Class of 1985
Rod Dreher married Julie Harris, recently of Dallas, TX, in New Orleans on December 30, 1998. They honeymooned in Portugal, then returned to Fort Lauderdale to live. He was named chief film critic for the New York Post, and recently received his third Pulitzer Prize nomination for distinguished criticism.
C. Scott Nicholson is starting a private OB/GYN practice at West Jefferson hospital in the New Orleans area.
Valerie Normand finished graduate studies at Western Washington University in Birmingham in the spring of 1996 and received a MS in Environmental Science. She is currently working for North Cascades National Park in Marblemont, WA and supervises the Wilderness Information Center for the park from April through October. During the winter, she plays! She sends fond greetings to any faculty and staff who may remember her!
Captain Lenny Richoux recently completed a two year assignment at the Pentagon and just completed a MA degree in Organizational Management from George Washington Univeristy. He is now flying the Air Force's newest aircraft, the C-17A Globemaster III, at Charelston AFB, SC. His wife, Michele, is expecting their first child.
Christopher Smith, M.D., graduated from the University of Illinois-Chicago College of Medicine in 1996. He completed medical internship and is currently a second year resident in psychiatry at San Mateo County General Hospital in San Mateo, California.

Alice M. Cappel is currently working for Baggett, McCall & Burgess as a research assistant for toxic tort litigation.
Heather Powers now an educational counselor in a transitional living program for 18-21 year olds who have been homeless in D.C.
D. Steve Voss recently accepted a position as Assistant Professor at the University of Kentucky at Lexington. He will finish out the year as a teaching fellow at Harvard before beginning his new job at UK this summer. He will be teaching "Introduction to American Government" as well as some classes on the statistics used by political scientists. His new mailing address will be: 1615 P.O.T., Univ. of KY, Lexington 40506.
Class of 1987
Thomas Easterling won two departmental awards at the University of Mississippi as the result of his work during the 1996-97 academic year: Outstanding Instructor of Sophomore Literature and Best Graduate Student Seminar Paper. He just won a departmental dissertation fellowship to complete his Ph.D. on Robert Hass' Poetry.
Keith Stillwell married Shea Mulhearn in Church Hill, MS on November 29, 1997. Shea is a graduate student in Clinical Psychology at Forest Institute of Profesional Psychology in Springfield, MO, where she and Keith live. Rob Landon and Nicole (Candell) Landon ('89) are proud to announce the arrival of their first child, Julia Elizabeth, born Sept. 23, 1997. Both parents are doing well: Rob's programming for Xcellenet, Inc., an Atlanta based software company, and Nicole is a videotape editor for CNN. Hope to see lots of our classmates at the 10 year reunion in May!
Sarah Nunez Chauvin married Jude Chauvin of Houma, LA, in December of 1991 and is a first-year pathology resident at Mt. Sinai hospital in New York, where Sunni Mun ('88) also works.
Class of 1989
Blair Whitney Barter received a M.A. in the History of Art from the University of Texas at Austin. She also married John William Barter, IV. They are now living in West Chester, Ohio where she works as a technical writer and editor for Structural Dynamics Research Corportation.
Pat and Annah (Walter) Cave were married in October 1994 and a currently living in the Washington, D.C., area. Annah is a Montessori School Teacher and Pat works for Congressman Baker.
David Morris was promoted to the rank of Captain in the Marine Corps on October 1, 1997. He is currently serving as the engineer officer for the Marine Wing Support Squadron 274 at Cherry Point, NC.
Patricia Elise Scaelan graduated from New Orleans Medical Center on May 17, 1997. She married James Allen Lalonde from Gretna. Elise will begin residency in New Orleans in the field of Otolaryngology.
Beau Tedesco just finished medical school in Shreveport and has moved to New Orleans to begin work and play in earnest.
Ruth (Guidry) Wilson received the 1995 National Sallie Mae Award for excellence in the first year of teaching. She married :Brian Wilson on May 24, 1997, and received a M.S. in Mathematics in August 1997 from McNeese State University. She is currently working as a mathematician for the Naval Research lab at Stennis Space Center in Mississippi.
Class of 1990
Angela Amin graduated from Duke University with a BS in Biology and a second major in English in 1994, and is currently in her fourth (and last!) year of medical school at LSU-NO. She and Sonia Amin ('93) successfully skydived from 5500 feet.
Patricia Kelly is living in Washington, D.C., and is working for an architecture firm, RTKL Associates, Inc. She is still single with no kids. She has been in D.C. for over a year and loves it. Her firm does a lot of work on the international scene and has offices overseas. Currently, it looks like she will be in London soon to pursue further architectural education and continue to work with the firm in the London office.
Susan McBurney is currently living in Atlanta where she has worked as an actor for the past three years. She has also worked in the sports broadcasting industry.
Pennie Neveu entered a MBA program at Johnson Graduate School of Management at Cornell University in 1997.
Maya Matthew Powers recently returned from a seven week long trip to South India with husband and former medical school classmate Chris Powers. They were married in December, and graduated in May from LSU School of Medicine in New Orleans, and have recently moved to Houston, where they have begun their residencies at Baylor College of Medicine.
Shelly Tanner went trekking on a Himalayan Health Expedition. She is in her third year of work as a research clinic coordinator for an HIV clinical trial at UCSF Medical Center. She will go to UC-San Diego this fall for medical school and public health training this fall.
Class of 1991
Brandy Breithaupt Brenner graduated summa cum laude from LSU in Chemical Engineering. She was married to Chip Brenner in October 1996, and is currently living in Houston. She is working as an operations engineer for Mobil Oil.
Brook Haley is teaching Intensive Writing at UC-Irvine, where he is pursuing a Ph.D. in Comparative Literature. He recently headed the organizing committee for an interdisciplinary graduate student conference, Revolutions, which featured Marjorie Perloff as the keynote speaker. He is currently writing on John Ashbery and Arthur Rimbaud in an intertextual exploration of allegory and translating poetry by Michael Deguy, "with dozens of as yet/ Unrealized projects, and a strict sense/ Of time running out, of evening presenting/ The tactfully folded-over bill" (Ashbery).
Melissa Herring graduated with BS in Psychology from LSU and has worked for a year at Psychiatric hospital for children in Baton Rouge. She has decided to go back for more madness. She is pursuing a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, with an emphasis in conduct disorders in children and adolescents. This summer she conducted research and continued her training at the Bangor Project for Children with Disruptive Behaviours at the University of Wales. She is still easily identified by her unique laugh/cackle.
R. Brock Lynn, during the summer of 1996, was a NASA Space Grant research scholar at the University of Southern Mississippi working with a major professor in computer science. During the fall of 1997, participated with LSU's computer science team at the ACU competitionheld at Rice University, and is also a member of ACU and a member of Pi Mu Epsilon math honor society. He is presently working as systems administrator for Cyberview Internet Provider in Baton Rouge and attending LSU working toward a computer science degree.
Victoria Moreno-Jackson graduated from Trinity University in San Antonio in 1996 and married Cullen Jackson in January 1997. Claudia Dyle ('91) and Karen Loti ('91) were in the wedding. She and Cullen currently live in Rhode Island where she is a psychological research assistant for Brown University.
Francisco V. Pham is not yet wealthy or wise, but healthy. He is still actively learning, which the Louisiana School initially instilled.
Class of 1992
Megan Reseter Graduated from LSU-BR in May 1996 with a BA in Religious Studies, and moved to South Korea, where she taught English for six months. She is still there, travelling and selling jewelry. Since going to Korea, she has traveled to Japan, China, and Guam. In the summer of 1997 she spent two and a half months touring Northern India and Thailand. What an adventure life has become!

Sonia Amin graduated in December 1997 with a BS in Management Science from SMU.
Benjamin Aton graduated with distinction from the U.S. Navel Academy with a BS in Systems Engineering and was commissioned as an Ensign, U.S.N.R.
Shawna Batchelor received a BA in Art History and is currently working on an independent study project on mythology to complete her philosophy minor. She is currently living in the north of France where she is renovating a house which will be the locus for various creative projects.
Sharon Cheng is working for J.P. Morgan & Co. in New York City as a Sales & Trading Analyst. She just graduated from Rice University with a triple major in mathematical economics, statistics, and managerial studies.
Marshall Garlington currently holds the position of re-recording mixes in Burbank, CA. He puts sound effects in movies. He recently worked on "Soul Food" which is now out on video.
Emily Black Grey graduated from LSU in May 1997 and is starting LSU Law School this fall. Emily, her husband, Charles, and their daughter, Meg, have purchased their first house and now reside in Denham Springs.
Leigh Guidry graduated from LSU in May with a major in Anthropology and a minor in English. She worked for the Department of Natural Resources for the summer while working toward certification to teach high school English.
Jason B. Kaplan graduated from UT-Austin in May 1997 with a BS from the College of Natural Sciences. He is waiting for notification of acceptance to medical school for fall 1998.
Leighia Lynn, 1997 Summa cum laude graduate of Southern Miss, BS Degree in Mathematics with Honors college Distinctions; Who's Who Among Students in American Colleges and Universities; Mathematical Association of America Award; Mathematics Scholarship Award; USM Math Team; Delta Delta Delta Scholastic Award; Outstanding Young Woman Award; Phi Kappa Phi, Omicron Delta Kappa, and Golden Key honoraries; Outstanding Student in Calculus Based Physics Award; USM Math Team; Secretary Kappa Mu Epsilon; Secretary PACERS (peer counseling). She is presently attending Mississippi State University graduate school on a full fellowship. Serves as a graduate school SGA Senator and is Resident Director of Rice Hall.
Amber MacKenzie graduated with honors from Boston University with a degree in Biology in May 1997. She is spending a year writing, editing, and doing research and design in nutrition and health for Natrek, Inc. before grad school in 1998.
Joy Magee graduated from LSU in May 1997 in Information Systems and Decision Sciences. She married Kevin Smith in June and moved to Chattanooga, Tennessee.
Tonni Poche' is spending a year in the real world before going back to school. She graduated cum laude from USL with a BA in English.
Andrew Poynot is currently working in Ft. Worth, TX, as a mechanical engineer at Motorola. He was the Valedictorian for the Tulane School of Engineering Class of 1997, with a 4.0 GPA.
Angela Robinson graduated Summa Cum Laude from NSU in May 1997 with a BA in secondary education. She is pursuing a M.Ed. in Special Education: Gifted from NLU. She is teaching Developmental Reading and Study Skills at NLU.
Darrell Rubin graduated Summa Cum Laude from Xavier with a 4.0 in Chemistry/Pre-Med.
Rebecca (Reed) Wright is currently assigned as a nuclear mechanic to the carrier USS Nimitz (CVN-68). She will be in the Navy until February of 2001. She married John Wright on August 12, 1995.
Class of 1994
Robin McMullan Faulk has finally settled down semi-permanently. She is pursuing a degree in Secondary English Education, and was married to Richard Ryan Faulk in June 1996.
Micah Luftig will be graduating in May from L.S.U. with a B.S. in Microbiology and a minor in Mathematics. In June, he will begin pursuing his Ph.D. in the Program in Virology at Harvard Medical School.
Randy McCluer will be graduating in May from L.S.U. with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering. He is currently interviewing with various engineering firms in the LA/TX area.
Travis Warziniack will be graduating in May from L.S.U. with a B.S. in Economics and a Mathematics minor. He will be taking a year off to pursue volunteer work in southwest Texas after which he will begin graduate work in Economics.
Class of 1995
Angela Howard was chosen as a student marshal by the faculty. It is an honor bestowed on 20 sophomores based on academics, responsibility, and campus activity involvement. She will hold the position through her senior year. She is double majoring in English and Women's Studies. This fall she will be interning at the Capitol in Washington, D.C.
Renita Ward is majoring in Chemistry and Political Science at Southern University. She spent the summer of 1997 in study abroad programs in Mexico and Europe. Fall 1997 she will co-op at Disney World, and in Spring 1998 she will co-op with Honeywell.
Class of 1996
Brian Beavers, when not working on LSMSAAA matters, serves on a Louisiana Tech College of Engineering and Science Leadership Team for technology development and integration, for which he recently compiled a report on student opinions on the College's plan for use of advanced technology in the future. He also participated in the 58th Annual William Lowell Putnam Competition, a prestigious national undergraduate math exam, placing in the top 40%.
Stephen Henry's paper on L.Q.C. Lamar for Dr. Findley's class while at LSMSA was published in the Summer 1997 issue of The Concord Review. Stephen is currently enrolled at Harvard.
