Flamer

Here is the Flamed Bug at the Volkswagen Store in Richardson.

The flame's paint is a special paint made by Dupont. They noticed that Dupont had some race cars that where painted in this color...they liked how cool they looked - as they seemed to change color as they traveled around the racetrack. VW Store approached Dupont and had them paint a '98 bug completely in this color - $5000 paint job. That particular car was around the store for a while, mainly to attract customers. When they decided to sell it they where going to take it to several shows and shop it around. The first show it went to, in California, it got snapped up by a VW Performance store that uses it as their promo vehicle.

They liked the color so much they decided to use it again on this flame job... to the tune of $3000.

It's real cool - it changes color based on the way the light is hits it.
